Yorktown

To our freedom - It was October 19, 1781, when a long and bitter battle for independence culminated with the British surrender to General George Washington. A new nation was born.

Today groups can come to the Yorktown Victory Center And experience the drama of the American Revolution and the birth of the United States. With it's indoor galleries you can chronicle the Revolutionary era and learn about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Outdoors you can experience the sights, sounds and smells of the 18th century. Whether you are watching a re-created Continental Army, smelling the crackling fire on the open hearth of a log kitchen or visiting Surrender Field - there is something here for all groups of all ages.
